WHAT WE DO

FROM HEALING
TO LEADERSHIP.
FROM VOICE
TO ACTION.

HEAL. CREATE. LEAD. ADVOCATE. TRANSFORM. HEAL. CREATE. LEAD. ADVOCATE. TRANSFORM.

THE WE GOT US PATHWAY

EVERY PART OF THE MOVEMENT IS CONNECTED.

The pathway is designed as a continuous journey, where healing leads to creativity, and voice leads to policy change. Every program area feeds into the next, ensuring that young people have the tools, support, and power to transform their lives and their communities.

PEER-TO-PEER MENTAL HEALTH

We empower students to be the first line of support for their peers. Through training in active listening, empathy, and crisis identification, young people learn how to hold space for one another and connect their friends to professional resources when needed.

PEER MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADORS

Our trained Ambassadors serve as leaders within their schools, reducing stigma and promoting mental wellness through workshops, awareness campaigns, and direct peer support. They are the visible face of a culture of care.

HEALING CIRCLES AND SAFE SPACES

We facilitate guided circles where Black teenagers can speak freely about their experiences, traumas, and triumphs. These spaces are built on trust and the understanding that we are the experts of our own lived experiences.

THE GOAL IS NOT TO TURN STUDENTS INTO THERAPISTS. THE GOAL IS TO BUILD A CULTURE OF CARE.

ART AS HEALING

Students use writing, poetry, music, storytelling, theater, movement, visual art, and digital media to process emotions and advocate for change.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Young people build skills in communication, teamwork, facilitation, conflict resolution, organizing, public speaking, and community leadership.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY

Youth meet with public officials, present research and testimony, participate in advocacy trips, and help shape proposed legislation.

YOUTH RESEARCH

Students investigate the challenges affecting their peers, collect information, identify patterns, and develop youth-centered recommendations.

LAW AND POLICY EDUCATION

Students learn how government operates, how laws are written, and how community concerns can become policy proposals.

WE GOT US DAY

Communities celebrate youth wellness, leadership, creativity, service, and advocacy through an annual family-centered community experience.
